Towards Time Resolved Conductance Spectroscopy of Molecular Junctions
Rani Arielly , Yoram Selzer
School of Chemistry, Tel Aviv University
As a necessary step towards realization of time resolved conductance spectroscopy of molecular junctions we present electrical measurements of “Suspended-wire” molecular junctions comprising of 1,1',4',1"-Terphenyl-4-thiol under alternating laser irradiation.
Large conductance amplification factors are observed upon irradiation and analyzed using photo assisted and induced transport mechanisms. Comparison between the conductance of the junctions with and without irradiation enables semi-quantitative assessment of their transmission properties.
Several future goals based on the presented experimental capabilities are briefly discussed.
