Extremal Horizons with Reduced Symmetry : Towards Novel Phases of Nature

 Classifying the zero-temperature ground states of quantum field theories with finite charge density is a very interesting problem. AdS/CFT correspondence or Holography maps this problem  to the classification of extremal charged black brane geometries with anti-de Sitter asymptotics. We will try to show that this program leads to invention of new solutions which will enrich understanding of both  gravity  and condensed matter theories.
