Using the Van der Graaf accelerator of the Weizmann Institute, radioactive isotopes of neon will be produced via a Deuterium beam hitting a Lithium Flouride (LiF) target at 2.3MeV, producing neutrons which participate in an (n,p) type reaction on a target of Sodium Chloride (NaCl - table salt) to produce the neon.
The overview of the system (work in progress) is presented, along with supplementary simulations for predicting the yield.
