Time Domain X-Ray Astronomy on the ISS with Lobster Optic

We propose a focusing x-ray telescope, based on the so-called Lobster optic, to be placed on the International Space Station. The simultaneous high sensitivity, high position resolution, and wide field of view makes the Lobster optic ideal for the study of astrophysical x-ray transients, including: supernova shock breakouts, tidal disruptions of stars by massive black holes, and most importantly, the x-ray followup of gravitational wave triggers. I will describe the experimental design and talk about the scientific opportunities that can be realized with this telescope.
