Transition between in-and anti-phase TE-TM mode dynamics in a semiconductor laser subject to external feedback.

We investigate TE-TM coupled mode dynamics in a semiconductor lasers subject to selective TE feedback. In THE regime of low frequency fluctuations (LFF) we uncover correlated and anti-correlated dynamics between TE and TM modes. The transition between the two occurs at a certain injection current and (or) feedback intensity. We show that these observations can be manifested within the framework of Lang-Kobayashi model with an additional phenomenological term responsible for an effective coupling between the modes in dependence on pumping strength.
