A search for three nucleons Short Range Correlated nucleons in nuclei with CLAS detector at Jefferson Laboratory

School of Physics and Astronomy, Tel Aviv University

A three-Nucleon SRC (3N-SRC) is a trio of nucleons with large individual momenta ( | p → 1 |,| p → 2 |,| p → 3 | ) and small total (or c.m.) momentum ( p → c.m. = p → 1 + p → 2 + p → 3 ), where large and small are measured relative to the Fermi momentum of nucleons in the nucleus.

The goals of this work are:

  1. Identify ppp-SRC candidates using a sample of A(e,e'p) events selected to maximize the number of SRC nucleons.
  2. Characterize the topology of ppp-SRC events .
  3. Extract the ratio of of ppp-SRC to one-proton knockout events, in order to determine the probability to find a ppp-SRC event in the nucleus.

A brief description of the under-going analysis will be presented.
