SESAME

SESAME (Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East) is becoming reality. On November 22 2017, the first x-ray monochromatic beam was observed, and this represents a major milestone in the technical development of the center and opens up the possibility of starting its scientific activity: as the commissioning of the first instruments is speeding up, first experiments will be performed in the near future.

During the talk, the status of the accelerator complex as well of the first  beamlines will be reported and the perspective of the use of the facility by scientists in the Region will be presented.
