We study the spacetime interpretation of exact results for the $SL(2, \mathbb{R})_k / U(1)$ black hole model in string theory. We show UV/IR mixing effects in the Euclidean black hole, drastically modifying late-time behavior and hinting at the special role the horizon plays in quantum black holes.
