Current searches for resonances in the $\gamma\gamma$ channel, show an unexplored region below 65 GeV in the mass spectrum. Several phenomenological proposals for resonant Axion-Like Particles exist within this mass range and motivate experiments to go down into this region. I will present ATLAS' approach towards this analysis, planning to use full run 2 data.
